How to use CSV to TSV
- Add your CSV data. Paste text or select a file from your device.
- Choose your options. Review the settings and select Convert.
- Save your result. Preview, copy, or download the output.
Know your output.
CSV values stay strings to preserve leading zeros and large IDs. Nested JSON objects use dotted column names; arrays stay JSON text. Spreadsheet-safe mode prefixes potentially executable cells.
Conversion happens locally. Refreshing or closing this tab clears the workspace; downloaded files remain on your device.
CSV to TSV: conversion behavior
Convert comma-, semicolon- or pipe-separated data into a tab-separated file locally. Quoted fields are parsed before output is written.
Use this for a destination that accepts tab-separated records. Select the separator present in the source.
- All rows, including the first row, remain in the output; a header is not inferred or removed.
- Values stay strings. Quoted commas and line breaks are handled inside their cells.
- Output uses tabs and CRLF record endings; fields are quoted when necessary.
- Blank-only rows are skipped. Spreadsheet-safe mode may prefix formula-like cells with an apostrophe.
Questions about CSV to TSV
Is this a global comma replacement?
