Know your output.
Still images only; animated images are rejected. Images are re-encoded, so metadata and color profiles may change. JPEG removes transparency and uses your selected background. Maximum 20 MB and 24 megapixels per image, 12000 pixels per side, and 100 MB total input. Width and height apply before rotation. Results may be larger than the original; quality is not a target file size.
Conversion happens locally. Refreshing or closing this tab clears the workspace; downloaded files remain on your device.
Compress WebP: conversion behavior
Re-encode still WebP images locally at a chosen quality, with optional resizing and rotation. See output size changes and download the successful batch as ZIP.
Use this to reduce dimensions or try a different quality before publishing a WebP image.
- The default quality is 75%. Lower quality can reduce visual detail.
- Only still WebP is supported; detected animation is rejected rather than silently flattened.
- Transparent areas can remain transparent. Metadata and color profiles may change.
- The browser must support WebP encoding; output size is measured, not guaranteed to shrink.
